The breadth of our experience is measured not only in years, but also the vast number of industries represented by our staff members. Before joining GeoAnalytics, we came from software development, environmental sciences, utilities, urban and regional planning, transportation, state, local, and federal government, business planning, cartography, and law.


Meet our founders:

William S. Holland, CEO

William S. Holland is regarded as an industry expert in the architectural, organizational, legal, economic, policy, and administrative aspects of IS/GIS and business intelligence implementation.

He is Past-President of the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) and was a member of the National Research Council Committee on Licensing Geographic Data and Services.

As a nationally recognized lecturer on information and technology policy, Mr. Holland has given numerous lectures and workshops at local, regional, and national conferences.

Prior to co-founding GeoAnalytics, Mr. Holland was the first Executive Director of the State of Wisconsin Land Information Board. He was responsible for implementing the nation's premier program for the coordinated development of integrated geographic and land information systems across local, state, and federal agencies.

Mr. Holland holds BS and MS degrees with academic honors in Agricultural Economics and was a Hunter Graduate Fellow at the University of Illinois. He was conferred, cum laude, a Juris Doctor from the Northern Illinois University College of Law.


Peter G. Thum, President

Peter G. Thum is a principal, co-founder, and president of GeoAnalytics. He is an expert in the organizational and technological dimensions of geographic information systems (GIS) implementation.

Mr. Thum has over 15 years experience in information technology. He has given numerous lectures and workshops at local, regional, and national conferences, and has authored several articles for publication. His professional affiliations include the Urban & Regional Information Systems Association (URISA), American Water Resources Association (AWRA), American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM), Illinois Geographic Information Systems Association (ILGISA), and the Wisconsin Land Information Association (WLIA).

Prior to co-founding GeoAnalytics, Mr. Thum was the sole proprietor of H2Geo Consulting, Madison, Wisconsin. The firm provided geographic and land information consulting and management services to government and private sector clients.

Prior to founding H2Geo Consulting, Mr. Thum was the facility manager of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Land Information & Computer Graphics Facility (LICGF) where he provided hardware and software systems technical support, assisted in projects on the application of GIS for automating local government land records, managed Project LOCALIS (a consortium of seven Wisconsin and Illinois Counties, IBM, ERDAS, and ESRI), modeled water quality and non-point pollution for land use planning applications, and provided general consulting to county and municipal officials in LIS/GIS implementation.

Mr. Thum holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master of Science degree in Water Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
